Fresh from university and armed with a degree in accounting, Heidi Hill embarked on a successful 20-year career in corporate finance and human resources.
Heidi always had a strong interest in holistic health and in 1994 decided to pursue the study of the art and science of homeopathy at the Pacific Academy of Homeopathy (San Francisco). She graduated their three year program in 1997 but continued clinical training and study, eventually extending that to animals.
Her real interest in, and love of, animals and holistic healthcare finally prevailed and she blended her two passions into Holistic Hound, a natural "healthfood" store for dogs and cats, which she opened in 2003.
Heidi carefully selects all the products in her store, taking into account the animals’ well being on every level — mental, emotional and physical. In addition to homeopathic remedies, one can also find herbal remedies, flower essences, glandular and other supplements for treating common ailments such as arthritis, skin problems, allergies, infections, separation anxiety, etc.
Heidi believes that nutrition provides the foundation for a healthy, happy life, so a good selection of premium foods and treats, including organic and raw, can also be found.
Heidi shares her store with her five year old Siberian husky, Pearl.
As of May 2007 Heidi will be available for home calls in the San Francisco area.
