Voted runner-up in the category of “Best Alternative Medicine Provider” in the Bay Woof 2009 readers’ poll, Heather Sanders is well-known in the Bay Area as a skilled holistic practitioner. Through her company, Wags ‘n Wellness, she provides holistic health services in the comfort of your own home or other location of your choosing. Sessions include a holistic assessment, bodywork, and discussion of food therapy, herbs, supplements, and fitness.

Heather has over 500 hours of training in canine anatomy, physiology, and bodywork and holds certifications by the Northwest School of Animal Massage as a Small Animal Massage Practitioner and by the Tallgrass Animal Acupressure Institute as a Small Animal Acupressure Practitioner. In addition, she has pursued training in Tellington T-Touch, myofascial release, tui na, and herbology.

Conceptually similar to acupuncture, acupressure is a gentle, non-invasive, safe form of bodywork that uses the practitioner\'s fingertips to apply pressure at various points on the body in order to access and release blocked or congested energy. This stimulation releases muscle tension and diffuses toxic buildup, facilitates blood and energy circulation, and promotes natural healing.

Through the use of acupressure, Heather has successfully treated a wide range of conditions including acute and chronic pain, digestive disorders, behavioral issues, and even allergies. When used in conjunction with massage, acupressure is also effective in relieving stress, reducing muscle spasms, improving mobility, strengthening the immune system, enhancing circulation and promoting general wellness.
